Bernadette Peters (born Bernadette lazzara on 28 February 1948) was an American actress singer and children's author who hails from Ozone Park Queens New York . In her five decades of professional career, she has appeared on stage and in the theatre along with solo shows and recordings. She was nominated and won the award three times. Drama Desk Awards. Grammy Awards have been won with four Broadway productions where Peters was a part of. Peters was a performer as a youngster on stage and was later on, she was cast in roles for teenagers in the late 60s and early the 1970s. She was known for her stage debuts and also for her TV performances, which included the Carol Burnett Show The Muppet Show and Annie. The actress returned to Broadway in the late 1980s which was when she became the most famous Broadway star for the next 30 years. The singer has also released a variety of solo album, cast albums as well as singles. She has performed in her own concerts on a regular basis.
